After the release of iOS 17 , all eyes turned to iOS 17.x versions. Developments regarding the first iOS 17.1 are also coming to light every day. iOS 17.1, whose RC version is also available for developers, can be made available to all users at any time. So, what kind of innovations will supporting iPhone models receive with this new update? Here are 4 big innovations that will come with iOS 17.1!

4 big innovations that will come with iOS 17.1

1. Standby Mode customization

Standby Mode essentially turns your iPhone into a bedside clock while it charges; for example, it can show the time and date or a selection of photos from the phone gallery. It’s available on every iPhone that can run iOS 17, but it works best on the always-on displays found on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models, as well as the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models.

Standby mode was introduced with iOS 17, but iOS 17.1 adds another customization option. With the new update, you can control when it will close. You can choose Automatically (when the room is dark and your iPhone is not in use), After 20 Seconds, or Never.

2. Apple Music Favorites

Apple Music currently lets you add artists to Favorites, but this will be expanded to include songs, albums, and playlists in iOS 17.1. Any tracks you previously ‘liked’ in the Apple Music interface (i.e. tapped the heart icon next to them) will be converted to Favorites.

Apple GPT is coming: Can it topple ChatGPT?

Of course, Apple is expected to join the artificial intelligence race, which is accelerating today. When will the artificial intelligence, which will probably be called Apple GPT, be released?

The iOS 17.1 update will also make it easier to add songs to your Favorites with a few interface tweaks. For example, you can add a song to your favorites by tapping the star icon button on the lock screen widget. There will be a similar button on the currently playing screen, and Favorites will also be accessible from the Library section.

3. AirDrop transfers linked to iOS 17.1

Another change that came with iOS 17.1 was the improvement in AirDrop transfers. You will be able to continue transfers once they are initiated over Wi-Fi or cellular networks. This means you don’t need to stand next to someone for a long time to send a large number of files.

Once the update arrives, you’ll see a new toggle in Settings > General > AirDrop that allows transfers over cellular networks; If you move out of AirDrop range, transfers over Wi-Fi will automatically take effect.

4. Lock Screen photos

There’s an option called Photo Blend that you can use on your iPhone’s lock screen: You can find this by pressing and holding on the lock screen, then tapping the plus button, and then selecting Photo Blend.

Currently, you’re limited to using Apple-provided galleries based on themed, featured photos selected from your Photos gallery, or a set of images you manually select. In 17.1, you’ll be able to choose specific albums to shuffle, giving you a handy extra customization option.
